<title>This site has moved</title>
<description>hi gentle people. for events after 31 Dec 2005, i have decided to store those photos in my Flickr account (http://www.flickr.com/photos/-silvertongue-/). all are welcome!

the reason for my move is basically the ease of features in Flickr over Fotopages.

there will be a few entries here in Fotopages which i will continue to add photos into and they are:
1. "This week, I 'ave been ea'in'... " - the entry on food  :-> 
2. "Hard Rockin' around the World!" - photos from every hard rock cafe and hotel i've been to
3. "Schumacher the Red Guy" - photos of my faithful companion around the world.

<title>Airplane Food</title>
<description>with all the traveling i've been doing these past few years, i thought it'd be interesting to start a fotopage on the food served on board all these flights. i've just started, so there's not going to be a lot of stuff to see -- hopefully, this page will grow to be something more substantial!

most people would agree if i said that airplane food does not taste that good. well, here's a few reasons why:
1. the quality of in-flight meals have dropped over the years because of cost-cutting (visit http://airlinemeals.net to see more than 18,000 pictures of airline meals, spanning more than half a century).
2. pressurized aircraft, low humidity, dehydration, cabin pressure -- we lose about 20 percent of our taste buds.</description>

<title>Stuck in Kathmandu, Nepal</title>
<description>after coming back from thamel, we went back to the soaltee hotel to get ready to fly back, but it was then we were informed that our air nepal flight was cancelled and that we were stranded for at least another day. we were bounded off to the hotel himalaya in patan for the duration of our extended stay.

we were stranded there for an additional three days!!! and after much running around and stressful arguing, we managed to get home.</description>

<title>Thamel, Kathmandu, Nepal</title>
<description>from patan, we headed to thamel, located in the middle of kathmandu. you can find hundreds of shops selling all sorts of touristy stuff, trekking gear and restaurants. you can even find genuine khukuris or gurkha knives -- the ones issued to the nepali army and the gurkha army/police regiments in the UK, singapore and brunei -- the real deal called 'service number 1'.

after spending rupees and hours there, we headed to an impressive nepali food restaurant that features cultural dances and every one of us got a tika on our forehead from the hostess.

<title>Patan, Kathmandu, Nepal</title>
<description>from bhaktapur, we headed off for lunch and then to patan, a section of kathmandu located in the south end. patan also has a durbar square and by this time, we were bored looking at the same old things -- newari temples, garudas, statues, etc -- so we didn't spend that much time there. to pass the time, i watched kids playing this game where they 'timbang' a ball of rubber band with their feet. seems to be a popular game with kids everywhere in nepal and girls are not excluded. </description>

<description>coming down from nagarkot, we went to bhaktapur, an ancient city close to kathmandu. bhaktapur also has a durbar square and there you can find the most important piece of art in kathmandu valley, the golden gate. there's a second square called taumadhi tole, which has the nyatapola temple, the highest temple in kathmandu valley.</description>

<description>on saturday, we made an early move for nagarkot -- a grueling 9-hour bus journey away from pokhara. nagarkot is located around 2000 m above sea level and on a really good day, you can see mount everest way way in the distance. the air was so thin that i semput when i ran up the slopes and stairs!</description>
